03 The problem

A medinfo answer is only worth the source behind it

Most of what a medical-information desk is asked is factual, and most of it is answerable. What makes it slow is the second half of the job: finding the right record, checking it still says what you think it says, and being able to show your working when the answer is challenged.

The answer is easy, the proof is slow

A rate, a contraindication, a warning, usually in the SmPC. Finding it takes minutes. Citing it defensibly takes an afternoon.

The same question is asked twice

First line answers what it can and escalates the rest. Without a shared trail, second line redoes the retrieval from scratch.

Patient detail changes the answer

Weight, pregnancy, age, renal and hepatic function, and current medicines decide what is safe. Attach the patient and the answer is written against that case.

Sourced answers

Ask a clinical or biomedical question and get an answer with its sources attached. Every claim links back to the PubMed record, regulator entry or product label it came from.

Patient-grounded context

Attach a patient profile: age, weight, pregnancy status, comorbidities, current medicines. The answer is written against that case, using the indication, the age and weight, the organ function and what the patient is already taking.

Regulator and product reference

Ambiguous product names are resolved before anything is retrieved against them. HSE COPR, the VMD Product Information Database and the Summary of Product Characteristics are surfaced in the same workflow as the literature.

Audit-ready trail

Every prompt, retrieval, response and human-review choice is logged. When you escalate to second line, the packet exports with it.

The sources your reviewers expect to see

Every citation links to a record retrieved for that answer. When a source returns nothing, the answer says so.

PubMed 28.8 million abstracts and citations, searchable in full.
OpenAlex — citation graph Look up a work by PMID or DOI, list what cites it and what it cites, and surface ranked concept tags.
HSE COPR — regulated biocides Regulator records for products that never reach a SmPC, so biocides and devices are covered alongside medicines.
VMD Product Information Database Veterinary product records and SPCs, including the safety precautions that only appear in the veterinary label.
Citation verification Every citation is checked against the record it was drawn from before it is shown, so a dead or mismatched reference is caught before anyone relies on it.
